Petzl Strato Lightweight Climbing Safety Helmet is a hugely popular helmet in the sporting world, used for rock climbing, abseiling and more. Due to it’s high safety specifications and lightweight design it has also become very popular for workplace use. For example, the Strato helmet is now widely used by people who work in rigging, scaffolding and roofing.
The helmet is comfortable to wear with a soft, light EPP (expanded polypropelene) and EPS (expanded polystyrene) lining. It features Petzl’s CENTREFIT system, which allows the helmet to be centred precisely on the head. The FLIP&FIT system also allows the headband to be set in a low position, guaranteeing a secure fit.
The Petzl Strato helmet is designed and certified to offer protection for both work at height (EN 12492) and also work on the ground (EN 397). This is achieved through the use of the helmet’s DUAL chinstrap, which can be adjusted for different environments. Adjusting the chinstrap for high strength reduces the risk of helmet loss while working at height. Adjusting it to low strength reduces the risk of strangulation due to snagging while working on the ground.
The helmet has an unventilated outer shell that protects from risks including electrical hazards, molten metal splashes and flames. Thanks to its modular design it can also be combined with Petzl’s range of accessories and head torches.
