Description

DuPont™ Tyvek® 500 HP TY178S Harness Protection Coveralls offer superior Type 5B and Type 6B protection when working at height.  Drawing on decades of experience in the field, DuPont™ have designed the Tyvek® 500 HP garment specifically for users of full-body safety harnesses.  This garment provides protection from a wide range of liquid and particulate hazards when working in elevated positions or confined spaces.  Winner of the 2024 Préventica Innovation Award in the PPE category.

Robust yet lightweight (under 180g per garment), the Tyvek® 500 HP overall has a patent-pending ergonomic design.  Multiple access points are provided to the safety harness, which is worn underneath the garment.  There are four D-Ring sleeves:  One in the front, one in the back and one on each side.  The garment also features an off-centre Tyvek® zipper and flap to allow connection to the front D-Ring sleeve.  Elasticated face, wrists and ankles as well as glued-in waist elastic and Tyvek® thumb loops provide a secure, comfortable fit.  The overalls give ample freedom of movement and have a large, easy-to-grasp zipper puller.

Tyvek® garments are made from flash spun, high density polyethylene, which provides a superb balance of comfort, durability and protection.  Tyvek® material is permeable to both air and water vapour, yet repels water-based liquids and aerosols.  It offers an excellent barrier against fine particles and fibres down to 1 micron in size.  It is ultra-low-linting and anti-statically treated.  Silicon non-added.

Tyvek® 500 coverings are ideal for use in a number of roles, from maintenance work to forensics.  They have applications in medical care, chemical processing, the oil and gas industry, general cleaning and spray painting.  Tyvek® limited life products were used around the world in health care centres in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.  They also meet the requirement for EN 1073-2 protection against contaminated radioactive particles.  For further details, please see the DuPont™ Technical Bulletin – Nuclear Risks.
