Cut Protection

Cut Protection Gloves help protect your work force from some of the most common work place injuries.  More than 25% of all workplace accidents involve damage to the hands or fingers.  As such, it is important to choose the correct hand protection products for the job.  Cut resistant gloves protect the wearer’s hands when working with tools, machinery or when handling items with sharp or jagged edges.

Cut protection gloves adhere to specific EN safety standards.  The EN 388:2016 standard rates safety gloves on a scale of 1 to 5 for cut resistance using the Coup Test circular blade testing method.  The higher the rating, the more protection the gloves provide.  This testing method is no longer considered reliable as the circular blade can be quickly dulled by cut resistant materials, potentially giving inaccurate results.

The EN ISO 13997:2024 standard uses a Tomodynamometer (TDM-100) machine to test the amount of weight needed to cut through the material.  In the TDM test, a new straight blade is used for each cut, with the same cut direction and length.  This provides more reliable testing results.  The EN ISO 13997:2024 standard rates gloves on s scale of A to F, with F providing the highest level of protection.
